Sydney Airport Fire Service c.1947-48

Airport Fire Service vehicles lined up at Sydney/Kingsford Smith airport c. 1948-49. Note the DCA logo on the door of the tender. At this time most Fire Service vehicles were ex-military disposals and the Fire Service itself was largely drawn from volunteers working on the airport in other capacities.

The aircraft in the background is a civil CAC Wackett trainer.
