Australian ATC Console in Kathmandu - 2004

Good consoles never die, they simply fade away...

When the Australian Air Traffic Services system transitioned on to the fully-computerised TAAATS equipment in 1998-2000, many Procedural Consoles became redundant. As part of the continuing programme of providing assistance to less well-resourced nations, some of these consoles found their way to the Kathmandu, Nepal, ATC Centre.

Although some of the electronics on the upper fascia panel have been changed, this console is still recognisably one from Australia. It was photographed in December 2004.
