This somewhat indulgent shot, above, shows Brisbane Airport following a late-evening take-off from Runway 19. The view is looking north down Runway 01, with the domestic and international terminals out of shot to the left, and the airline and general aviation maintenance areas in the centre foreground. The other runway, 14/32, is very difficult to see in the gloom on the uppermost, left part of the land area.

The photo below shows the remains of the old Brisbane/Eagle Farm Airport at the southen end of the current airport. In the centre of shot can be seen the old runway strips, whilst beyond remain a number of the old hangars. Beyond the airport area is the Brisbane River and Brisbane City. The old airport closed on 20 March 1988.

Both photos were taken in July 2005.
