Beechcraft Super King Air 350 VH-FIX - Survey Equipment

These photographs show the flight inspection equipment in the interior of Beech Super King Air 350 VH-FIX. It is identical to the inspection equipment in 'sister ship' King Air 200 VH-FII (owned by Pearl Aviation), which in turn was removed from Astra VH-FIS when that aircraft was sold.

The upper photo shows the Flight Inspector's console, while the lower photo shows some of the additional equipment for the flight inspection role. At left are three communications transceivers (2 VHF & 1 UHF) with a transponder below. This transponder, used for testing radars, is unusual in that it can operate in military Modes 1 or 2 and civil Modes A, B or C. The light grey panel at right is the unique, Australian-designed 'transponder switch panel' which is used to extract signals from the transponder for recording.
