Fokker F.27 Mk 1 Friendship 100 VH-CAT is seen here at DCA's Melbourne/Essendon base on 12 October 1964. Since delivery, the aircraft has been retro-fitted with weather radar in a slightly extended nose.

VH-CAT was later sold to the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and until the late 1990s still flew on a variety of research tasks.
