Melbourne Airport 1985 - A Service Community at Work

Melbourne Airport 1985

In 1985 the Victorian Department of Education produced an information kit for primary schoolchildren titled Melbourne Airport: A Service Community at Work. The kit was produced with the assistance of a number of organisations at Melbourne Airport, including the Department of Aviation which, at that time, operated the airport.

The kit was aimed assisting teachers to develop children's understanding of social concepts such as interdependence and organisation, using the example of the wide range of activities to be found at a major international airport.

The kit contained a slideshow comprising 30 slides illustrating various locations and activities at the airport. Also included were a number of documents and other resources.

On the following pages we have reproduced the slideshow with accompanying captions.
