Rose Bay Flying Boat Base - 1942-43

This aerial photo of the Sydney/Rose Bay flying boat base c.1942-43 is taken from Edgar Johnston's personal Copy No. 7 of the wartime RAAF directory Flying Boat Bases and Alighting Areas, dated June 1943, held in the CAHS archives.

This view looks north out over Sydney Harbour. The Rose Bay terminal is immediately beneath the right fluke of the anchor symbol and the Qantas Empire Airways hangar can be seen to the immediate lower right of the terminal, on the promontory jutting into the bay.
