Sydney Control Tower

This shot shows the view from the Control Tower at Sydney's Kingsford Smith Airport in April 1968. Note the crisp white shirts! This was the third Tower at Sydney - click here for Towers one, two and four.

Taxying past is a Qantas Empire Airways Boeing 707, followed by an Air New Zealand DC-8. The Boeing 707, in particular, was responsible for bringing international air travel within the reach of many who were previously unable to afford it.
